PolyesPro® tested for safe use in ATEX environments

Geplaatst op 8 May 2026

The PolyesPro® material sandwich for pipe marking has been successfully tested for safe use in ATEX environments.

Pipe markers are widely used on piping systems carrying flammable liquids, gases, powders, and granulates. Due to the presence of these substances, many of these environments are classified as explosion hazardous. Strict safety regulations apply within these zones, and materials must be suitable for safe use without creating an ignition risk, for example through static electricity.

PolyesPro® has been tested by an independent Dutch laboratory and found suitable for application in ATEX environments, such as the petrochemical industry, oil and gas extraction, wastewater treatment facilities, the raw materials industry, and tank terminals.

The surface resistance of the material complies with the limit values specified in IEC 60079-0:2017. This international standard defines requirements for equipment and materials used in explosive atmospheres, with specific focus on preventing ignition hazards caused by electrostatic discharge.

Thanks to these properties, PolyesPro® pipe marking can be safely used in ATEX zones.
