Blomsma Signs & Safety implemented all the tank marking for TPT Terneuzen in 2018. The tank markings have features that cover all the recent aspects of legislation and regulations plus practical operational information. This is a dynamic and multifaceted environment in which a durable quality level is required for the signage.
TPT is a service provider for the chemicals sector in Terneuzen, offering a wide range of logistical and production capabilities. They handle the transhipment and distribution of bulk chemicals on the European market, working for customers from a variety of sectors. TPT also dries, sieves, calcines, filters, mixes, packages and produces chemical products.
There are over 30 silos and 24 tanks on the TPT premises holding a variety of materials. The tank markings have been applied on or near the tanks, carefully taking account of the sides from which they will be approached, the reading distance and the visibility. Multiple tank markings have for instance been applied on the bund wall and new signage has been put in place for the tank numbers. Features such as an NFPA hazard diamond, GHS hazard pictograms and the GeVi and UN numbers are included in the marking as standard. The name of the medium has been placed on a coloured background that corresponds directly to the NEN 3050 colours for the pipeline marking. This means that the markings contain information above and beyond the requirements imposed in Chapter 8 of the Working Conditions Provisions.

The old markings were removed in consultation with the client and the entire signage placement project was carried out successfully and safely.
