Blomsma Signs & Safety has been contracted by HSM Offshore Energy to provide safety signage and pipe marking for the Southwark and Blythe platforms. The platforms operated by IOG will produce gas from the British sector of the North Sea. Safety plays an essential role on (unmanned) offshore platforms which are occasionally visited for maintenance and inspection work. Safety signage is an indispensable part of visual communication and identification, a clear contribution to safety.
Blomsma also realized the assembly of the safety signage, firefighting, and rescue equipment signage. The implementation had to be pragmatic, offshore proof and in accordance with current legislation and regulations.

The primary objective of the project was to provide the Blythe Platform and the Southwark Platform with basic safety signage that complies with the applicable legislation and regulations. The execution of the project took place in the Netherlands, onshore at the HSM yard in Schiedam. All engineering, drawing, and production were done from our office in Zoetermeer.
HSM Offshore Energy is a large Dutch construction yard. The work area includes engineering, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of multidisciplinary oil and gas production platforms, wellhead platforms, offshore high-voltage stations, and other heavy offshore structures.
