Some 300 km north of Den Helder, Petrogas and partners Dyas, TAQA and EBN work on the development of A18-A, the third shallow gas field at 350-750 m depth in the northern corner of the Dutch Continental Shelf. Early October the purpose-built gas production platform left from the port of Schiedam to the location in the North Sea and has been successfully installed on 13 October.
Blomsma Signs & Safety has been involved from the early stages in the project, to develop the sign plan based on provided structural design drawings of the platform A18. Blomsma subsequently started with the delivery and installation of all statutory safety signage. These include escape route signs as a complete system, firefighting and rescue signs, multiple signs for increased risk areas with relevant hazard, prohibition and mandatory action symbols, and all process safety markings.
The installed Process safety markings consists of pipe marking, identification tags for valves and fittings with the specific equipment number displayed, and marking of the (storage) tanks and vessels.
Blomsma Signs & Safety has also manufactured and installed the Platform Identification panels. This requires high-grade 3M reflective material with a very high visibility. In order to ensure the life time, the panels are fully finished and sealed in accordance with a method developed by Blomsma and 3M.
