Railing stepcovers – Aircraft Fuel Supply (AFS) has chosen to implement ‘Hand on railing’ stepcovers on the entire tankterminal. In the last decade, Blomsma Signs & Safety installed these stepcovers besides our standard range of anti-slip stepcovers on offshore oil- and gas platforms and for several years also on land installations. The goal of these panels is to minimize trips and falls when using stairs, by providing and reminding to keep one hand on the railing and highlighting the first and last step of a stairway. The Safeguard® Heavy duty panels have a anti-slip surface and are highly durable manufactured; even offshore these panels have a lifetime of more than 15 years.
Blomsma performed a survey on location, determined and measured all positions and shall install the approximately 200 stepcovers with integrated text message ‘Hand on railing’ in dual language and a general mandatorial symbol.
