Blomsma Signs & Safety started with the implementation of pipe marking, tank marking and valve identification marking for Oiltanking, location Amsterdam Terminal. A quick scan on site provided insight in the scope and dimensions and lead to the first phase of the project. Besides the prescribed GHS hazard symbols, flow direction indication and medium colour, Oiltanking requested to incorporate additional specific information on the pipe markers. Line numbers and more detailed medium (or function) names are applied to the layouts. The pipe marking is in accordance with current law and legislations, but also provides useful information to operators and thus contributing to efficient operating of the Terminal.
The pipe markers, tank markings and valve identification numbers are manufactured in a durable 3M Scotchcall sandwich with a 3M protective laminate, which can withstand all weather influences and most (base) chemicals.
Under direct supervision of a dedicated project engineer and a team of mechanics the markings are applied according to the Safety procedures of Oiltanking.
