Rubis Tank Terminal Botlek has awarded Blomsma Signs & Safety the order for signage on its storage tanks. The tank terminal in Botlek is a dynamic terminal; the content of the storage tanks can change regularly. This was also the challenge faced by the practical signage method that was chosen. Up-to-date details of the substance stored in a tank have to be shown at all times, naturally.
Blomsma Signs & Safety has developed solutions for numerous tank terminals. These best practices have now also been applied at Rubis. Overview signs with 3D impressions will be placed for the tank pits, giving an overview of the tanks, with swappable elements for the media plus a diagram of the EX zones where appropriate.
Safety symbols in line with the Working Conditions Decree will be integrated into the overview signs, with the aim of presenting a single complete information board at the access points to the tank pits. This will avoid having to use multiple separate boards and signage items that may be inconsistent.
Signage for hazardous substances stored in reservoir tanks is required under articles 8.12 and 8.13 of the Working Conditions Provisions. GHS (Globally Harmonized System) symbols will of course be applied, in line with the CLP legislation.
