Blomsma Signs & Safety has received an additional order from Oiltanking for safety signs on pipes and tanks on the Amsterdam terminal. After a successful pilot, the sequel includes the entire tank terminal.
The motivation of the project is the imminent deadline for the implementation of the GHS hazard symbols in accordance with EU-GHS / CLP, additional to the existing legislation, Health & Safety Regulations Chapter 8 and EU 92/58. The GHS (Globally Harmonized System) symbols which display the dangers of a medium are integrated in the pipe marking and tank marking.
In addition to the legal obligation to implement the pipe marking, it also provides operational benefits; the entire piping system is more transparent and recognizable to both operators and contractors. Pipes can be identified more quickly and contributes to operational safety.
A Blomsma team will independently handle the implementation of the pipemarking and tankmarking under the supervision of a dedicated project engineer.
All markings and signage will be executed in durable 3M® Scotchcall® materials produced according to 3M® specifications.
