Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding contracted Blomsma Signs & Safety for realization of all relevant safety signs for the JSS Karel Doorman, build for the Royal Dutch Navy.
The Joint Support Ship is admissible for supply at sea, strategic sea transport and logistical support from sea. The ship measures 204,7 meters in length and offers space for 171 crew members, features a helicopter deck with 2 helipads, and has its own (off)loading facilities and medical facilities. A unique project requiring all of our experience in the field of safety signage.
The full scope consists of elemental safety signage as prescribed by IMO and Solas, a complete escape route guidance system (Low Location Lighting) and specific signage according the Navy standard. Multiple Blomsma installation teams will be deployed to complete the signproject before the sea trials which are planned in May / June.
