The safety signage systems developed and implemented by Blomsma Signs & Safety for hydrocarbon production and storage sites are now also being introduced at Vermilion Energy Germany. Hundreds of onshore locations in the Netherlands and Germany have already been equipped by Blomsma with these pragmatic systems featuring a uniform visual design. This consistency in signage provides a clear and structured visual language for safety information, instructions, and regulations.
Following previous signage projects for Vermilion Energy in the Netherlands, where approximately 90 sites were equipped, Blomsma Signs & Safety will now start a new project for Vermilion Energy Germany, at the Osterheide Z2 location. In this project, we will implement a complete safety signage system, fully tailored to the specific requirements of mining locations and according to Vermilion Energy’s safety standards.
All signage will be harmonized as much as possible with the systems implemented for Vermilion Energy Netherlands. Safety symbols are primarily based on international (ISO) standards and the European Directive 92/58. Specific components are designed in accordance with German TRGS and ASR guidelines, referencing DIN standards for example, pipe marking is executed according to DIN 2403.
The safety signage system includes, among others:
• Marking of escape routes and emergency exits
• Signage for firefighting and rescue equipment
• Safety signs for site access and specific installations, featuring warning, mandatory, and prohibition symbols
• Pipe marking
• Tank marking
Within the system, various visual features are applied, such as reflective and photoluminescent properties from the high-quality SafeSign™ product range. The unparalleled PolyesPro® material is also used for pipe marking, ensuring maximum performance and durability for these safety-critical communication elements.
From our Blomsma Signs & Safety GmbH office in Bunde-West, a project manager and a team of 3M™ Certified Safety Signs Installers™ will carry out the installation, contributing to a safe and well-organized working environment for Vermilion Energy in Osterheide.
