In 2015, after a thorough survey and based on a sign plan and engineering, we provided the Marathon Oil Alba B3 platform with a complete package of safety signage, escape route marking, low location lighting in the accommodation shelter, safety instruction signs, platform ID signs and pipe marking.
This platform first started producing gas off the coast of Equatorial Guinea in 2016 and was built by Heerema Fabrication Group. In July 2016, the Alba B3 platform began producing gas for the first time, allowing Marathon Oil to convert approximately 130 million barrels of oil equivalent of gas from undeveloped reserves. This has extended the life of the Alba field off the coast of Equatorial Guinea by eight years.
Blomsma Signs & Safety realized the safety signage based on a sign plan. Blomsma also produced, delivered and installed the complete escape route signage, including cabin safety instructions, low location lighting and escape route signs. Furthermore, pipe markings have been applied to all pipes according to the Marathon Oil color scheme including GHS hazard symbols and the platform has been equipped with eye-catching Platform Identification Signs.
All signs were manufactured from a 3M™ Scotchcal™ reflective vinyl on various base materials to the stringent 3M™ specifications. Installation was performed by our Blomsma 3M™ certified technicians, ensuring all relevant 3M™ product warranties. The pipe marking was done with the ultra-strong PolyesPro® material.
During the sign project, we were also asked to install the life-saving equipment and fire-fighting equipment with associated brackets, cabinets and boxes. This created an efficient combination in which signalling and equipment were installed simultaneously.
