Blomsma Signs & Safety was commissioned by Damen Verolme to replace the Platform Identification signs for the Paul B. Loyd, Jr. The signs had to be suitable for the extreme offshore conditions in which the Paul B. Loyd, Jr. operates.
The durable, storm proof and harsh weather resistant platform identification signs are made of the highly visible 3M™ Diamond Grade™ reflective vinyl. To ensure longevity, special measures have been taken to prevent corrosion and vinyl loosening. This proven application and finishing technology has already been applied to several offshore projects. When the production and installation is done by Blomsma Signs & Safety engineers, the 3M™ warranties and product quality are guaranteed.
The experience of HeliOffshore members (a global network of the offshore helicopter sector) is that the Platform Identification Signs are very readable. This to distances of almost 500 meters, day and night. This creates a perfect tool for counteracting incorrect helideck landings.
